In Redmond
Yesterday afternoon I arrived to Redmond. Flight was fine, NWAs Airbus 330 has a built-in LCD in every seat and on demand audio/video/games. Choice of movies wasn't impressive, I only watched Mr. Brooks (quite good movie, I will see it once more because I think movies on airplanes are edited a bit).
Apartment I got is pretty big even though it's 'only' 1 bedroom (apartment sizes are different in USA and Slovenia - this apartment would easily be an apartment with 2 rooms back in Slovenia).
Today I met with Andrej - he was here for three weeks on some kind of a training at Microsoft. Since he was in Bellevue I had to take a bus to get there. I was walking for a while, searching for the right bus stop and I gave up (does anyone know which bus you have to take from the campus to get to Bellevue? Is it 230, 232 or 233? :)). I walked into one MS building and said I would like to get to Lincoln square - receptionst said not a problem and she called a shuttle for me :). How cool is that? So I got a free ride with a shuttle to Lincoln square.
There Andrej was already waiting for me and we went to Bellevue square shopping center (a bit bigger than Europark in Maribor). Andrej picked up a couple of shirts and then we went for a coffee. If you already been in Starbucks or similar coffee shop you know the choices of coffee you can get. Andrej ordered a coffee with a long name :) and I just took a regular latte. I guess I will have to try some other coffee next time. Oh, we also went to Apple store - yep I was holding an iPhone and I played with this a bit. Btw. guys I hope your iPhones won't stop working once you get back to Slovenia...
I went with Andrej back to his apartment - he packed and then we went to eat to some kind of a mexican grill - similar to McDonalds but you can choose from variety of mexican food. I left Andrej (he has a flight back home today) and I went to get a shuttle back to the campus. Shuttle dropped me off at the same building as before and I went to 7/11 to buy some drinks/food/icecream :). Then I walked for a while back to the apartment.
I must say the weather is pretty good now - it was raining a bit this morning but know the sky is clear.
On Monday I will go to new employee orientation and then on Thuesday I will go to my office.
